Looking for ways to get animal lovers to check out your animal clinic? Want to build up support for your animal shelter? An animal promotion is easy to do as long as you know what kind of promotional items you have at your disposal. Unleash your creativity and find unique ways to attract attention. Here are some suggestions:

* Are you opening an animal clinic or launching a store that sells pet supplies? Prior to your formal opening, introduce yourself to the neighborhood by giving out promotional coasters, key chains, bookmarks, pocket calendars, mouse pads, and fun fliers {imprinted|printed} with your clinic or store’s name, contact number, and address.

* On your store or clinic launch date, give out animal treats or toys to early clients who bring in their pets. Make the event a fun one by decorating your shop or clinic with balloons, pennants, mini flags, and other party decors. Have your staff wear imprinted promotional shirts bearing your corporate logo and message. Shirts are some of the best ways to be seen easily.

* The key to repeat business is to always be there when you are needed. Make it a point to call clients and remind them that it is time to bring in their pets for vaccination or a routine visit. Have your records in order so that you know which clients should be paying you a visit in a month, and inform them beforehand so they can have this scheduled.

* Promote your animal adoption campaign by placing a photo of the pet in custom photo frames. Individuals wanting to take home an animal and care for it can simply show up on the adoption day and choose from the animals whose photos are displayed. This would make the adoption process more memorable.

* If you are seeking donations for your animal rescue shelter, say thank-you to generous donors at the end of the year by giving out custom photo frames with images of the pets that your shelter cares for. You can include a personal inscription that describes how the rescued animal’s condition has improved through the support you get from donors.

* Encourage existing donors to spread the word about your pet adoption campaign by giving them bookmarks, flyers, magnets, coasters, and other promotional items bearing your message. Your donors can give these out to friends, co-workers, and family members who are excited to take a rescued animal under their wing.

How would you feel if you looked into your yard or garden one day or called your pet name one morning, to not then see your loveable, companion pet friend come leaping towards you.

Panic then hits home, you think to yourself, i hope they have not run away or got lost and in an instant you start to worry and panic until a little later after many calls of their name or making that familiar noise with their food bowl, they finally come bounding back which then makes you feel happy and relieved once again.

So how do you think you would feel one day if your favourite pet did not return to you?

Pet theft accounts today for about two million companion pets stolen each year from their owners homes or whilst in parks or off the street. Recent crime statistics released state that pet theft has overtaken mobile phone and i pod robberies to become the most rapidly growing crime in the UK. Some are taken under false pretense and sold through ads, abducted from their owners yards, or taken from pet care shelters called pound seizure. These animals are then sold to research laboratories or dog fighting rings where they are often abused and sometimes killed.

There are many organised criminal gangs at large scouting areas looking to abduct pets for ransom reasons. If the owner does not pay up then the pets are usually killed or let loose many hundreds of miles away from the area of abduction. Cats are especially vulnerable to abduction as they are small and make little noise when stolen.

If this happened to you, then you would want the very best help as quickly as possible. VPI Pet Insurance care cover is a must if you want the very best assistance in this situation. These VPI Pet Insurance policies cover legal assistance where a private investigation team could work on your behalf to retrieve your pet as quickly as possible for you.

They work closely with the local police and investigate thoroughly and are professionals at what they do. Usually these pet abduction gangs are run by well known criminals who can be familiar to the police, so this information is released over to the specialist team working on your behalf who can carry out surveillance of the pet abduction gangs, looking for your pet.

If a ransom note is received, the specialist VPI pet insurance team will take over the operation so you wont ever need to come face to face with any criminal minds. Some VPI pet insurance policies also cover the ransom amounts up to a specified and agreed figure with the customer.

In the unfortunate instance that your pet is never returned, the VPI pet insurance company will offer you anything from ?500 to £1500 for the value of your pet, usually the only condition in your policy will be evidence that your pet has been missing for thirty to ninety days.

Included in many VPI pet insurance policies are the covering costs of advertising in your area and local newspapers for your lost pets safe return. These pet care policies also pay for the costs of offering a reward to anyone with information or return of your pet.VPI Pet Insurance services offer high street name pet insurance cover companies like Sainsbury, Pet Plan, Marks & Spencer, Argos and the RSPCA to name only a few.

The best way to find or even if your just considering this pet care insurance is to use the internet. On the internet you can obtain quotes from all these different companies in a matter of a few minutes.

Many VPI Pet insurance companies also offer anything up to 10% discount if you buy online which can result in great savings. We recommend that you shop around on the internet between the various online pet care companies as you will be surprised what you could save on each policy offered.

Article by David William

The thing that you have to remember before you decide to bring a pet into your life is that each animal is different, and each one has a different personality. For instance, when I was rooming with a former friend in college, her mother bought her a puppy. At that point, we already had a pet cat that we had found wandering around the dorms and had kept, so now we had two animals to deal with.

Because the cat was an indoor/outdoor cat, she was mostly kept outside. However, when she did come inside, she actually got along fine with the puppy. Because the dog we had was young, we were able to train it alongside of the cat to make sure that the two got along and also to make sure that the furniture wouldn’t get ripped to shreds. However, not all pets are angels. Especially if you already have one pet in your home, introducing another pet into your household can be a bit tricky. If you have the option, see if you can do a trial run with your adoptive pet to see if things will work out. Most pet adoption agencies nowadays do this anyway.

One of the other things that you have to consider when you are thinking of getting a pet is the type of furniture that you are going to keep in your home. For instance, a leather couch may be easy to clean cat or dog hair off of, but can you really trust your pet alone with the couch when you are not there? There is the possibility with dogs to train them not to destroy furniture, but with cats, you may have to consider removing their claws, which is already a controversial issue. Other ideas to preserve your furniture involve sequestering the pet to one area of your home so that they do not have access to certain items. However, depending on the size of the space that you are going to leave them in as well as the duration that they would potentially have to stay there while you are at work, this may also cause a problem.

If you have children or even if you are a social being who often has friends and family over, you have to be considerate of this fact. Recognizing that not all people like animals is something that you need to come to terms with and plan accordingly if you are ever going to entertain guests in your home. For example, you may think that it is alright for your dog or cat to sit on the couch with you. However, other guests may not feel comfortable sitting on a couch where a dog has just been reclining. If your pets are “lap pets” or if they like to hover near people, you may have to put them in a separate room away from your guests so that your guests don’t feel uncomfortable.

In the end, you have to make the decision as to whether or not your home and your lifestyle AND your personality are ready to adopt a pet. There are some people who find out that while they love the idea of having a pet cat or dog (or other animal), when they actually get the animal in their home, they find that it causes them more stress and anxiety than they had ever anticipated.

People welcome pets in their lives every day, but ownership is not to be taken lightly. If you rush into adopting a four-legged friend without doing any research, you may soon find that you are in over your head. Taking care of an animal requires time, energy, and funds. Yet you can easily dig up the info you need before becoming an owner by going online. The same 4G network also connects you to pet-care resources after you have added a pet to your home.

Pets range from the traditional to the exotic, although there are many restrictions on the latter category. Goldfish, gerbils, hamsters, and rabbits are commonly given to children, who learn responsibility by regularly feeding their rodent or fishy friends. Dogs and cats, on the other hand, are normally family pets, owned by one out of every three households. Such animals require a good deal more work but, in turn, offer more. Canines are known for their loyalty and the company that they provide. While felines tend to be more independent, they too add warmth to a home and have hilarious personalities.

If you are just beginning to search for the ideal companion, try using wireless internet to navigate over to the Australia-based organization, ?PetNet.? The ?Four Legs, Four Walls? design guide is well worth a look if you are in the process of moving or renovating your home. ?Pets in the City? has helpful hints no matter what town you live in, as it focuses on how to keep them happy in small living spaces. The ?Alliance for Responsible Pet Ownership? similarly provides resources. Even if you cannot adopt a pet, you can donate to support the work they do.

Another website that should be considered by anyone interested in animal welfare is The Humane Society, which has been in existence since 1954. It currently counts with the backing of 11 million Americans, doing work that ranges from pet adoptions to animal rescue. With 4G by your side, you can browse through their fact sheets. Their publication, the ?All Animals Magazine,? covers creatures in the natural world and as pets. Well-researched, compellingly-written, and beautifully-presented, the magazine has lots of advice and makes a great addition to your regular reading schedule. Once you are ready to bring a cat or dog into your home, you can sign their pledge to do so via your wireless internet connection.

In addition to considering the time and energy commitment, it is also important to pay attention to the financial component. With mobile broadband by your side, you can browse through pet shops online to get an idea of the amount you could be spending each week. The Humane Society statistics suggest that the vet bills for dogs are a bit more expensive than cats but, depending on the pet itself, you could end up spending more. Either way, when you know ahead of time what you are getting into, you can ensure that becoming a pet owner will be a positive experience for you and the four-legged friend.

Research before you get a pet and then enjoy continued support with connectivity from http://www.Clear-Internet.com.

The pet insurance market has exploded! Dozens of pet insurance companies are popping up all over the web. When looking to provide health coverage for your pet, questions arise. Should I invest in pet insurance? How much will I really use it? Is it worth the financial investment? What’s covered? What’s not? What is my pet’s current health status and will that affect my rates? I have 4 dogs; that’s a lot of money for insurance each year! Does insurance only cover certain types of pets? Is there any other choice for protecting my pet? You may have already started the process in researching the various companies out there, and if you haven’t thought about it yet, I’ll guarantee you will think about it now.

When choosing a pet insurance policy for your four-legged family member, there is a lot of research ahead of you. Each insurance company may not offer the same exact product for pet health care coverage, but the vast majority will be similar with their plans available and only cover cats and dogs. They will sing songs about their coverage and the peace of mind it brings. The reality a pet owner faces is that the costly quote they are given when they apply, comes with many stipulations. The money spent each year to have full coverage for your pet seems to be wasted each time the insurance company informs that the pet’s health condition is pre-existing or a hereditary flaw and will not be covered. In some cases, pet insurance companies will deny coverage because of the pet’s health records, which will be required when claims are submitted. Common problems policy holders face are among waiting weeks for a claim to be paid, and being unsure how much of that claim will be reimbursed based on an insurance company’s fee schedule. Policy holders also have to meet deductibles before claims are paid. Hopes that your rates won’t increase too much each year your pet ages, or that the insurance company won’t drop your pet all together, doesn’t sound like much peace of mind! It becomes a frustration and a dead end which will cost more money.

Bottom line is that consumers want cost effective options. Some feel that pet insurance is a trap. We are certainly not saying it’s worthless, but there is a powerful alternative for coverage that gives more back for a minimal investment. Pet Assure, the benefits program that has thousands upon thousands of pet owners smitten, offers members discounts and savings on not only veterinary care, but everything else needed for pets too! Pet Assure is not insurance. It’s a membership club that acts as a discount program. Why a discount program? It’s very simple. To save pet owners money on providing what they need and want for their pets! For a low cost fee that is sure not to put a dent in the budget, members receive an automatic 25% savings each and every time they have a visit with a participating veterinarian. There is a nice size network of providers to choose from, which is constantly updating and growing.

A significant difference between Pet Assure and pet insurance is the benefit of savings with a nationwide network of participating retailers and vendors. Pet Assure members receive discounts on everything from food, medications, health maintenance products, supplies, training, grooming, boarding, and more. Also, the program offers a lost pet recovery service for enrolled pets known as PALS. Insurance companies do not offer such benefits to their policy holders.

With Pet Assure, there are never any conditions or stipulations. No forms to submit, no waiting for claims to be paid, and no worries! All pets are covered no matter what type, including rodents and reptiles. Health conditions past, present or future have no bearing on enrollment. Family plans are available for multiple pets in a household, and there are no claims to worry about. The discounts are applied immediately, savings are gained instantly, and there’s no looking back. This is the type of pet care program that provides immediate gratification and brings peace of mind.

Being aware of what’s out there and gaining valuable knowledge to determine which options are best for your pets, gives you an advantage to choose the most beneficial coverage. There are alternatives to insurance. Ask yourself, which coverage truly gives peace of mind?

Although finding gifts for your children can be a challenge, there are always some things that are guaranteed to put a smile on their face. Children love animals and will often ask to have a pet and you will have to consider all of the factors behind this decision. Owning a pet is always a good idea as it teaches your children responsibility, love and they will be able to bond with the pet. Adopting a pet is a great way to not only give the animal a great home but also your child a fantastic present.

Deciding at what age a child should be given a pet can be a challenge and you may find it difficult to decide what pet is best for your child. If you give the pet when your child is too young then you must be prepared to do most of the work yourself. At the correct age then your child can be responsible for the animal to a degree. You also need to wait until they are at an age where they can respect the animal.

If your child is too young then they will not understand that certain things will annoy the pet and can upset it. You will need to talk to your child and make them understand that their present will in fact need looking after and will need an element of care. They need to be told that their new pet will need proper care and that they will have to look after them well. Although a pet is a great idea you will need to think carefully about the type of pet.

You should look at your child’s level of commitment for everything else if they have a low attention span then owning a pet may be of a challenge to them. If they are dedicated, tidy and aware of how important it is to care for things then a pet might be an ideal present to gift them. Owning a pet at a young age will allow your child to care for something and bond. You will be surprised how close your child and their pet become.

This is often a bond they will have for life and they will become best friends you will often find them together having fun. Choosing the type of pet will take a lot of thought as there are many different pets to adopt. If you are not very active people then a dog may not be suited to you and if you live in a busy area then a cat may become injured. Also think about which types of heart worm medicine for dogs you should be using for your dog.

There are many different pets that you can adopt to give to your child and you do not need to wait until a special occasion. You can decide to gift a pet at any time and your child will love their present. Some pets make excellent therapeutic aids and some child with disabilities thrive from having a pet. Whatever your reason for gifting a pet it is an ideal way to give your child something unique that they will have for life.

Article by Marilyn Mackenzie

Everyone knows that some pets are better for some families than others. Busy families might do better with cats than with dogs, since cats don’t require walking. Some families have small houses or yards, so if they are selecting dogs, they might need to look at smaller breeds.

Many things go into the selection of a dog, and just showing up at the local shelter might not be the best way to select a new member of the family. In fact, some statistics show that if one merely shows up at a shelter and allows emotions to rule over the selection process, that the chances that animal will be abandoned again are very high.

I have known these things for years, and when I wanted to add a dog to our family I took them all into consideration.

But what I did not realize is that each individual shelter, even if they are affiliated with a national one, can, and most likely does, have its own set of rules or guidelines for what makes a good pet owner.

The most recent addition to our family …#34; a mixture of Chihuahua and terrier …#34; joined us in the summer. What an experience it was getting Jake into our home!

I looked online in our local newspaper and on pet sites that list pets for adoption. Our family needed a small dog that was past all the puppy joys and problems. When I saw Jake’s picture, I fell instantly in love.

I filled out an online application, then had about six more email exchanges back and forth with the shelter. They kept asking more and more questions. I never gave up, but I did begin to wonder if I was selecting a pet or applying for a child adoption.

Our family passed, finally, the initial screening process and moved on to the next one. A worker came to our house to meet each family member and to inspect the house and yard. She also wanted to see if our cats were friendly. She did bring Jake with her and he jumped into my lap and fell fast asleep. That was a great sign to the shelter volunteer, since Jake had been through so much and was not very trusting.

My spouse and I thought that Jake might get to stay with us, but that was not the case. He sadly left our home and we thought we might never see him again. We thought we had been rejected as pet owners.

But that was not the case. Soon we received word that we had been approved as Jake’s new owners, and we made arrangements to pick him up two days later.

The paper work associated with this adoption was nothing like I had ever experienced too. We had to agree to feeding the dog certain foods, when and how often he would visit the vet, etc. And we were told that if we decided to give Jake up we had to make sure he came back to the same adoption shelter. We signed a paper saying that within the next three years, we would not give to any other individual or family.

I knew I had signed that paper. But I didn’t think much more about it until the incident with the dog that Ellen DeGeneres adopted, then gave away. Obviously, she had signed a similar agreement, because the shelter took the dog away from the family Ellen had chosen to be the dog’s new family.

I’m glad that pet adoption is a serious process. I just wonder if it needs to be as complicated as it was in our case. Or as rule driven and strict as it was in the case of Ellen.

When you want a pet, there are several ways to get one. Before you begin your search for a pet, you have to prepare your home and yourself. A pet needs to be cared for, and looked after. Hence, you must have your home ready for bringing in one more member to your household. Whether it is a puppy or a kitten, cat or a dog, each one needs love and affection to cohabit with you.

There are ways to acquiring free pets and the discussion ahead shall reveal five strategies to do that successfully.

Search Petfinder.com: This website is by far the largest database for adoptable pets. They have several pets and a proper procedure with regard to pet adoption. You can go through the pet catalogue and find out about different types of animals, which are well trained. Mostly pets that are required to be sent to a new home are available free of cost. Local Animal Shelter or Pet Rescue Shelter: There are several animal shelters spread across a city or town. Free pets are available at these centers. These animal shelters are mostly non profit organizations, and some of them charge a nominal fee for a pet sometimes. However, if you can negotiate with them properly, that can also be waived off.Acquire a Guide Dog: Another fantastic strategy to acquire a free pet is to get a ‘guide dog’ or ‘seeing eye dog’. These can be obtained free of cost, and can be trained to become your protector and friend. Normally these pets are retained by blind people, but you can always adopt these kinds of dogs, and keep them as your pets. Create a Virtual Pet: If your efforts to get a real pet fail, then you can get a virtual free pet. A virtual pet is also a wonderful company. The best part is that you can experiment more with these virtual free pets than the real ones. Neopets.com and Adoptme.com are nice platforms to acquire free virtual pets and is your lowest cost option to enter into pet ownership. You can practice here until you feel you are confident that you will be a responsible owner to your pet. Search Craigslist: If you have used Craigslist.com before and it is localized for the city you live in you can check if people added a post to give away free puppies, kittens, etc. Navigate to the “For Sale” menu section and search on the keywords “free pets”, “pets”, “free puppies”, “free kittens”, etc. If you are lucky you might find someone who is offering free adoption of their new litter to move the pets to a new home. Even if you cannot find someone willing part ways with their pets without adequate compensation then at least the price will be reasonable especially when owners are trying to sell through Craigslist.com. There is always a general rule of thumb that people looking through Craiglist.com are looking for reasonable prices and deals. Given the informalities of engaging in a buyer and seller relationship do not feel that you cannot attempt to negotiate a lower price. You also want to be cognizant that if you are getting a pet from Craigslist such as a puppy or a kitten chances are it has not received its vaccinations. It depends on how many weeks old the animal is. Most veterinarians are recommending to a combination vaccine to your puppies and kittens around six weeks old along with boosters every three weeks until the pet reaches 16 weeks of age. After six weeks your pets will be able to reach 100% immunity from the vaccinations. If the owner has already taken the pet in for its vaccines then the owner will most likely ask you to cover the costs of the vaccinations before the pet becomes yours.
